Washed Sand or Perk sand is a screened and washed, water-permeable material that provides a reliable foundation for drain fields or infiltration basins, pond or lake banks, beach and landscape areas.

 

This washed sand is also used as paver sand for brick pavers.

 

(The word "perk" is short for "percolation," referring to the fact that water moves through this type of material somewhat easily.)
